Classes @ The Playtent

Conducted in Chinese, English or Malay, these classes offer an unique opportunity in experiential learning. We not only produce actors of tomorrow but exceptional communicators & orators; skills that help them discover and achieve more than they ever felt possible.

Following the ideology and thinking of the International Baccalaureate, we provide fun, quality education where children are encouraged to experience the excitement of theatre, while gaining a creative insight into the world around them.

3 to 8 yrs
A fun and interactive programme where children learn to develop their oratory skills through structured storytelling, dress up and imaginative play.

10 to 15 yrs
A practical acting class focussing on the actual techniques required for theatre. Children are given a range of scripts to work on and explore different approaches to delivery of lines and text, effective presentation and communication of dramatic plays.

LAMDA Based Programs

7 to 11 yrs
Based on the ever popular The Playtent drama camps, these classes enable participants to gain an awareness of themselves whilst exposing them to theatrical processes such as devising and improvisation techniques. Each term culminates in a performance created and written entirely by the participants.

By Invitation Only
8 to 14 years
A weekly hour and a half session in which talented participants further develop their dramatic skills and knowledge to help them successfully achieve graded examinations in drama.
In these sessions students will develop their ability to communicate, refine their technical skills and artistry and foster an appreciation for literature, poetry and drama.

Teens are encouraged to pursue the LAMDA exams in this class.
13 to 16 yrs
A drama club for teens who have a passion for theatre. This club aims to empower youths to lead and drive their own ideas so as to produce young and relevant theatre!
It is a performance based class with every term culminating in a presentation of the work generated, whether a full length play, monologue or scene work.
