This August Buds Theatre Company will be educating the youth of today with Berlie Doherty’s highly engaging Dear Nobody:
Dear Nobody tells the tale of Helen and Chris, two eighteen year olds in their final year at school. They both plan to go to University until Helen finds out she’s pregnant after they sleep together for the first time. Chris wants to stay together but Helen turns him away, seeking solace in writing letters to her unborn child.
A “riveting and unforgettable love story”, Dear Nobody looks at the consequences and repercussions of unprotected sex in a frank, honest and non-didactic way.
Dear Nobody is a modern Theatre-in-Education project that touches on the moral dilemmas and choices young teenagers face with regards to sex. 2010 has been Buds Theatre Company’s year of the Community and now we are choosing to focus on Singapore’s youth.
