CLAIRE DEVINE
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/FOUNDER
Claire was trained at Guildford School of Acting and Dance, U.K and has been working professionally in the arts for the past twenty years. She came to Singapore thirteen years ago and has spent the majority of her time educating young people. She is currently a part-time lecturer at NIE, NAFA, La Salle and has worked intermittently with companies such as The Necessary Stage, Theatreworks and Act 3. As an actress, Claire has performed with The Necessary Stage, in the 2002 performance of WWW. W!ld Rice's performance of The Eleanor Wong Trilogy - Invitation to Treat, for which she was awarded Best Supporting Actress in the Life! Theatre Awards 2003, luna-id's The Physicists and in A Right Rubbish Christmas for Centre Stage Productions. In 2005, she was a part of the Finger Players production of Between the Devil & The Deep Blue Sea, and again in 2006 for The First Family - a Kung Fu Parody. She joined W!ld Rice again in 2008 for The Last Temptation of Sir Stamford Raffles and performed for Buds Theatre Company's performance of Framed in 2007, whilst directing it's most successful performance to date - The Importance of Being Earnest 2009.
Claire is the Artistic Director of buds youth theatre, buds theatre company and buds playhouse.
She is a proud member of SDEA, Singapore Drama Educators Association.

ROSEMARY McGOWAN
ASSOCIATE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Rosie has been involved in the theatre since she was a child. Studying Theatre Arts as part of her International Baccaleaureate, she then went on to do both her BA and MA in theatre, graduating in 2006 with an MA from London's Central School of Speech and Drama.
She has been a freelance theatre practitioner, facilitator and educator, working in schools and running projects both in Singapore and London since she was 17. Currently freelancing in Singapore, Rosie has taught in numerous schools, including Raffles Institution, Overseas Family School, Northlight School, Gan Eng Seng Primary School, Marymount Primary School and Centrestage School of the Arts. At the moment, she primarily teaches drama in CHIJ Katong Convent and Montfort Secondary School and is an adjunct lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts and at Singapore Polytechnic where she lectures and develops course material on the new Applied Drama and Psychology Diploma.
Working with Claire Devine, Rosie is co-Artistic Director of buds theatre. As Joint Artistic Directors, Claire and Rosie make decisions regarding the programme line-ups as well as directing, acting in and producing upcoming Buds' shows. Rosie also co-runs the weekly Youth Sessions.
As a theatre practitioner, Rosie has acted and directed in a range of productions. Having directed since her 2000 production of Neil Simon's Rumors, Rosie has directed plays such as The House of Bernarda Alba (Methodist Girls Secondary School, 2002), Tape (Buds Youth Theatre, 2006), Sisters (Short and Sweet Singapore, 2007) and Framed (Buds Theatre Company, 2007).
As an actor, Rosie has appeared in Tom Jones (United World College SEA, 2000), The White Plague (UWCSEA, 2002), Three Fat Virgins (University of Warwick, 2004), Size 00 (Buds Youth Theatre, 2007), The See Saw Tree (Buds Youth Theatre, 2007) and Existential Matters (Buds Theatre Company, 2007).
As a production manager, Rosie produced Claire Dowie's Death and Dancing (2008) and Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest (2009) both with buds theatre company.

REBECCA LEE
Rebecca graduated with a BA (Hons) in Acting from LASALLE College of the Arts. She has taught in both local and international schools in Singapore. Her teaching experience includes: Marymount Convent School, Teck Whye Primary School, Overseas Family School, St. Joesph's Institution International and Lorna Whiston Speech & Drama Centre. She is also part of the team that runs the weekly Buds Youth Theatre sessions at The Substation.
When not teaching, Rebecca spends her time on stage. Since graduating Rebecca has been seen in Buds Theatre Company's Death and Dancing (2008) as Max and Harper Lee's To Kill a Mocking Bird (2008) as Mayella Ewell. She was also seen as Stephanie in Somewhere between the Sky and the Sea at the Singapore Short and Sweet festival 2008, which went on to win the overall People's Choice Award.

SAHIRRAH SUFIT
Sahirrah is a freelance thespian and a drama faciliator. She has just graduated from Nanyang Academy Of Fine arts in June 2008 (Diploma in Theatre with Distinction). and received a Merit award from her school in 2006. She is also a recipient of the M1 book Prize Award in 2008 for achieving excellent result in Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts. She has represented NAFA at the Asia- Pacific Water Forum's Meeting, Singapore and Singapore at the "Short & Sweet Festival Australia" in Sydney in 2007. She has performed over 20 productions in NAFA.
Her passion for theatre and teaching starts during her secondary school days when she joined her drama club in 2001. Since then, She became active in drama and thus was appointed as the Vice-president of her drama society in 2003 and the President of the Drama Society in 2004. in 2002, she participated and represent her school in the Anti Drug Drama camp by NCADA and won the best performance award. Her School won Gold in 2003 at the Singapore Youth Festival- Drama. In 2004, She went to Laos under YEP to refurbish a primary school and taught them English and Drama. She was awarded the Platinum and EAGLES award by her school for her relentless effort in community involvement programme and her participation in her drama society respectively.
As a member of buds youth theatre since 2005, she has performed over 10 shows including acting, stage managing and producing. In 2005 She participated in "White Box Festival" organised my Theater Ekamatra as a director and an actor. She also performed in Theater Ekamatra's "Mentah 4" at the substation guinness theatre in May 2007 and participated in thier bi-monthly script reading session "Seram". in July 2008, she did a production with Theater Kami entitled "Romzi & Juleha" as part of a chorus at the esplanade studio theatre. She also directed one of the top 30 plays for Short and Sweet Singapore 2008. Currently she is co-facilitating buds youth theatre at the Substation.
